Pond Heating
Heating a koi pond can help make koi keeping a year round pleasure. Koi will stop feeding in the colder months and in the UK winter tends to be quite long.
It can also be benificial for the health of koi as they will feed longer, helping keep them in top condition. However it is a good idea to let them have a short winter break as they would in the wild, in Japan the winter can be quite harsh but also quite short. Beware to not let the water temperature hover between 50 - 60 degrees as the imune system will be low at this temperature but bacteria a parasites may still be active leading to potential health problems.
The other advantage of heating your pond is you can control the temperature in Spring and Autumn when you tend to get fluctuations in temperature which can also lead to health problems.
We sell a range of pond heaters to suit most pockets and which can easily be installed.
