Choosing the correct pump for you pond is vital and consideration should be given to height of any waterfalls which may slow down the volume of water pumped and running costs.

Pond Pumps for Filtration
Pond filter pumps need to be able to move solid matter out of the pond and into a filter if using a pump fed filter, if you filter is gravity fed you will need a pump which can be run dry. Normally we suggest turning the pond volume once every 2 hours throught the filter. i.e If you pong is 5000 litres you will need to circulate 2500 litres per hour throught your filter, but refer to your filter specifications before choosing your pump..
